Watch: Chargers' Uchenna Nwosu sets up TD with athletic interception

Just a few plays after a turnover spoiled the Los Angeles Chargers' chance at a fourth quarter touchdown, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu gave the team another shot with an athletic interception.

Nwosu, 24, jumped in front of a Patrick Mahomes pass on third down and tipped the ball with one hand before gathering it in. It was the first interception in the fourth-year outside linebacker's NFL career.

The turnover set up the Chargers just a couple yards from the goal line and the team capitalized on the opportunity with a 2-yard touchdown run for Justin Ekeler on the next play. Three plays prior to Nwosu's interception, Chargers running back Joshua Kelley fumbled while trying to dive over a pile of defenders into the end zone. Los Angeles also turned the ball over on downs three times earlier in the game.

The Ekeler touchdown pushed the Chargers' lead to 21-13, although the Kansas City Chiefs quickly responded with a five-play touchdown drive followed by a successful two-point conversion to tie the game.
