Marcus Stroman might be teasing a return to his old stomping grounds.
The free-agent right-hander caused a stir Saturday with a post to his Instagram story indicating he was in Toronto. Even more interestingly, the photo was taken outside of Rogers Centre, the Blue Jays’ home stadium.

Stroman, 32, pitched the first six seasons of his career with the Blue Jays, making an All-Star team with them in 2019 after securing a Gold Glove Award and an eighth-place finish in the Cy Young Award voting in 2017. Last season with the Chicago Cubs, Stroman got another All-Star nod and went 10-9 with a 3.95 ERA in 25 starts.
Of course, this may be nothing more than Stroman hanging out in Toronto over the offseason. Stroman had pretty hard feelings for the Blue Jays after they dealt him to the New York Mets, but Toronto was rumored to have interest in a potential reunion with Stroman several months ago. It now appears that there is some smoke on Stroman’s end as well.
