In an overtime thriller, Wake Forest defeated North Carolina in overtime, 82-80, to capture the ACC Tournament Title, Wake Forest led by six with two and a half left to go in regulation, but a basket by North Carolina's Jerry Stackhouse in the final second set it to overtime. Randolph Childress was named ACC Tournament MVP, after a historical run where he scored 107 combined points in the Demon Deacons' three tournament games. In the championship, Childress scored 37 points, to go with five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Tim Duncan had a double-double with 16 points and 20 rebounds, plus he also had three blocks. Stackhouse led UNC with 24 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and a steal. Donald Williams added 20 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
