Guillermo del Toro (GDT) has revealed that filming is well underway on his Frankenstein film.

Set to release next year, his take on the classic Mary Shelley tale has an all-star ensemble attached, including Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz, Charles Dance, David Bradley, Ralph Ineson and Lars Mikkelsen.

As per IMDb, GDT's Frankenstein will follow "Dr. Pretorius, who needs to track down Frankenstein's monster who is believed to have died in a fire forty years before in order to continue the experiments of Dr. Frankenstein."

The three-time Oscar winner took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share an update.

With filming being a third complete, it appears GDT's Frankenstein remains on track for its 2025 release.

When Will Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein Be Released?

While there is currently no precise release date attached to the project, GDT's recent films have followed a pattern of competing in the awards calendar, resulting in a fall/winter theatrical run.

If Frankenstein follows that trend, we can expect to see it at the tail end of 2025, maybe with a festival run ahead of its theatrical release.
