My Trip to New England

What's up yard?! I wanted to keep you updated on what's going on with me. I just got back to la from my team visits to New England and Detroit. Both trips were fun. I went to New England Monday night and visited with the coaches Tuesday for about 5 hours. I met with Coach Patricia, the linebackers coach, Coach Pees, the defensive coordinator and Coach Belichick. We watched film from the Cal game, the Arizona game and a little of the Notre Dame game. They went through their defense, the 3-4 with me. I also met a couple of the players. They were there working out, going into meetings and watching film. You could see why they are so good because they are always looking to get better all year round. You could feel the winning environment right when you walk in. They pay attention to every detail. It was awesome because you see how much they prepare and what goes into having an amazing season as they did. They have pictures of all the great plays covering the walls from the whole season. They only put up pictures after they win so as you could imagine they had a lot of pictures on the wall. I'll write about my Detroit trip next time.

  congrats.....on your future in the nfl!!!!!! looking forward to seeing ya lay some wood..... wouldn't it be sweet if the eagles traded up to get ya....considering that we do seem to favor SC players, just imagine YOU ,patterson, justice, & ramsey on the same team.....ya never know, anythings possible!!! anyways good luck , and for your sake, hope the pats draft ya at #7, cause that would be a fat signing bonus,& a nice contract on a winning team....

    It would be fun to play with those guys. They were mentors for me when I first arrived at USC. I would not mind at all playing in Philly. That would be great!

      Keith, Rocky Balboa was still the heavyweight champion of the world the last time Philly had something to cheer about. Your a great player and great players don't go to Phillly. Just look at Randy Moss. He was offered millions more to go there and refused it. New England wants you and that's where the great ones end up.

  Dude, you'd fit right in here! Let's cross our fingers that you're the guy cause we need versatile LB's like yourself. Belichick hasn't ever picked a LB on the first day, but this year is gonna change, and you're their guy!

  Hi Keith,
  I hope to see you wearing a pats uniform next season.
  Its all about if the pats think you got the size to play ILB for them, since 242 lbs [isn't it 242?] isn't the ideal size for the postion in a 3-4, if you add 5-8 more pounds i think were looking on the next great LB for New England.

    That would be a dream come true going from USC to New England. USC is the college version of New England.

  What's up Keith? Forget about going to Detroit, you aren't going to slip past New Orleans! But it's good to get around, I don't think Brady Quinn met with anyone past Miami last year, and that hurt him when it came to those middle round teams passing on him.
  
  How do you think you would adjust to a 3-4? Did the Pats ask you about moving you to ILB? And I am a Ravens fan so I would like to know if you have talked to them or not...

  Keith . . . Would love to see you in Denver or maybe even with Jack del Rio and the Jags so we couyld see you often. Been a Trojan fan since 1965, an alumn since '74 and a Keith Rivers fan since you played for the Lake Mary Rams. I think you have the best range of any Trojan 'backer since Richard Batman Wood (like you, he could fly). Good luck on April 26 . . . we'll be listening for your name!

  what's up everyone just wanted to say thanks and glad you all enjoyed hearing about the visit to the pats. i saw a question about me adjusting to the a 3-4 scheme i don't think there will be much of an adjustment since i have played some middle backer in the past at sc in the spring and some at the senior bowl i felt it wasn't much of a difference then. Also in the 4-3 i play in the inside a lot as well. alright yard im out thanks for the support l
